I found this photography lecture by Todd Hido on iTunes U. Quite interesting.
アメリカ人写真家、Todd Hido（トッド・ハイド）がNorthern Virginia Community Collegeで行ったレクチャーです。
自身の写真について、影響を受けた作品について語っています。
Lecture was actually took place at Northern Virginia Community College in 2008. He talks about works that influenced him as well as his own series of works.
「写真をはじめたばかりの頃は、ただ好きなものを撮ってたよ。」
“I was just shooting what I liked”
「これは、夜の住宅を撮ったシリーズ。」
“This is the series of works, House Hunting.”
「フィルムで撮っているので露出時間は6から10分ほど。待ち時間にその場の雰囲気を感じるんだ。」
” It took six to ten minutes for exposure. I really feel what’s going on during the waiting moment”
「この写真はある意味失敗だったんだけど、ここから新しいシリーズが生まれたんだ。写真のすばらしいところはアクシデントがしばしば良い結果を生むことだね」
“This photograph is not what I expected. One good thing about photography is that an accident often makes works better.”
「マーク・ロスコやエドワード・ホッパーの絵にはすごく影響を受けた。」（※上はホッパーの絵です）
“Mark Rothko and Edward Hopper’s paintings have big influence on me.”
「このリヒターの絵もとても面白い。アングルによって少しずつ感じが違う。他のアーティストから学ぶところは多いね。」
“This is from Gerhard Richter’s series Atlas. Different angle gives you different feelings. He painted based on these photographs.”
