週刊朝日緊急増刊『朝日ジャーナル』Asahi Weekly Special Edition “Asahi Journal”
10月14日に発売された『朝日ジャーナル』の表紙をホンマが撮影いたしました。
Homma’s photograph was on the cover of Asahi Journal published in October 14 2011.
『朝日ジャーナル』の創刊は週刊誌創刊ラッシュだった1959年。
The first issue of Asahi Journal was during the amidst of the magazine boom back in 1959.
1992年に休刊したものの2009年に創刊50周年を迎え、不定期発売ですが復刊しました。
The magazine suspended its publication from 1992, but began publishing on an irregular basis in 2009, which was the magazine’s 50th anniversary.
なんとこの朝日ジャーナル、隆盛期の1960〜1970年代には、
中平卓馬、森山大道といった名だたる写真家達が写真や文章を発表していました。
During the height of the magazine’s prosperity between 1960~1970, which coincided with the Japanese student activism, prolific photographers such as Takuma Nakahira and Daido Moriyama wrote photo essays on a regular basis.
最盛期は全共闘運動が盛んだった1968年下半期から1969年。
「右手にジャーナル、左手にパンチ(『平凡パンチ』)」というフレーズで当時の全共闘世代によく購読されていたそうです。
And during its highest year, which was from the end of 1968 to 1969, many student activists used to “carry Asahi Journal in the right hand, and Heibon Punch in the left”.
ちなみにこの頃『平凡パンチ』の表紙を担当していたのはイラストレーターの大橋歩さんです。
By the way, illustrator Ayumi Ohashi used to do the cover for Heibon Punch.
なんだかすごい時代・・。
